B2B Website Awards — Privacy Policy
1) Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Optise ("Optise," "we," "us") collects and uses personal data when you submit a website to the B2B Website Awards (the "Awards") and when you interact with the Awards website, forms, and communications.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws, including GDPR, ePrivacy, and (where relevant) CCPA/CPRA.
If you don't agree with this policy, please don't submit a site or use the Awards website.
2) Who we are (controller)
Optise ehf. is the data controller for personal data we collect for the Awards. Contact: legal@optise.com.
For any optional integrations you authorize (e.g., analytics), we process that data solely to evaluate your submission.
3) What we collect
Submission data

If you connect Google Analytics with read-only access, we retrieve relevant metrics needed to evaluate your site.
Technical data
Standard logs and device data (IP, browser, pages viewed) to operate and secure the site; Cookies per Section 9.
Communications
Emails/support messages related to your submission.
We do not request or accept logins/test credentials. Public sites only.
4) How we use your data (purposes & legal bases)
Run the Awards: receive and process submissions; evaluate foundations and signals; shortlist candidates for expert review; generate results. (Contract / Legitimate interests)
Notify you: submission confirmations, status, and results. (Contract / Legitimate interests)
Publish winners/shortlists: create public announcements and badges. You may opt out of public mention; your private results remain. (Legitimate interests / Consent where required)

We do not use Awards data for unrelated advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.
5) Expert review & results
Every eligible entry receives a private dashboard outcome: your total score, a breakdown by area, and a prioritized action list.
High-scoring entries may receive a human expert review using deep B2B domain expertise.
6) Winners, badges & publicity
We plan to publish winners and shortlists. You can opt out of public mention during submission or by contacting us.
Badges/certificates are opt-in and subject to usage guidelines we'll provide.
7) Sharing & disclosures
We don't sell personal data. We may share limited data with:
Service providers/sub-processors (hosting, email, analytics, support), bound by contracts and confidentiality.
Legal/Compliance: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Business transactions: if Optise undergoes a merger or similar event, your data may transfer under the same protections.
We may publish aggregated, anonymized insights that don't identify you or your users.

Submission & results data: kept for the current season and a reasonable period after (e.g., audit/recordkeeping), then deleted or anonymized.
Optional analytics: retained only as needed for evaluation; upon deletion request we remove connected data where feasible. Aggregated/anonymized insights are retained.
Communications/logs: retained per operational and legal requirements.
11) Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, port, or withdraw consent (for cookie/marketing). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data authority.

California/US: We don't "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by CPRA. You have rights to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive data (we generally don't collect it for the Awards).
12) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including TLS in transit, role-based access, and protective monitoring. No system is 100% secure — please keep your credentials safe and report suspected issues to security@optise.com or support@optise.com.
13) Children
The Awards are B2B and not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect data from individuals under the applicable age of consent (13/16). If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact us to remove it.
14) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We'll post the new "Effective date" and, for material changes, provide a prominent notice. Continued participation after changes means you accept the updated policy.
